How a project works

No complicated intake. Just an honest conversation about what you need and whether it's a good fit.

01 — Reach out

Use the contact form to tell me about the piece you have in mind. A rough idea is enough to start. I'll follow up within a few days to learn more.

02 — Design conversation

If the space requires it, I'll schedule a site visit. Photos and details go a long way if not.

For projects without existing drawings, a design retainer is required before shop drawings are produced. This protects the design work — and the retainer applies toward your project total. If you're working with a designer or architect who already has drawings, we move directly to an estimate.

03 — Estimate

Before any work begins you'll receive a clear, written estimate. No surprises, no hidden costs. If it works for you, we move forward. If not, there's no obligation.

04 — Build

Great Oak works on one project at a time. When your project begins it has my full attention — no assistants, no outsourced steps. Typical build time is around two months from the start date.

Projects are scheduled in the order they're received.

05 — Delivery and completion

Payment is structured in three parts: 50% to begin, 40% prior to scheduling delivery, and the final 10% upon your satisfaction at completion. The piece doesn't leave the studio until it's right.

Great Oak serves homeowners, designers, and architects in the Nashville area and Middle Tennessee.

If you have something in mind, the first step is simple.
